The locomotive is equipped with a digital mfx+ decoder and extensive sound functions, giving you full control over its performance and sound effects. The centrally installed controlled high-efficiency propulsion with flywheel ensures smooth and powerful traction. Each bogie has two axles driven via a cardan shaft with anti-slip tires, which improves grip and stability.

The locomotive's lighting is analogue and can be switched to digital operation. The front signals on locomotive sides 2 and 1 can be operated independently digitally, as can the cab lighting and engine compartment lighting. Additional track lighting lamps can be operated digitally depending on the direction of travel. The lighting is provided by warm white and red light-emitting diodes (LED).

The model is detailed with a newly designed roof structure and pantographs of the DBS 54 type. These pantographs can be moved up and down digitally. In addition, there are many loosely attached parts such as hand wheels, hand guides, sand boxes, UIC sockets and roof pipes for extra realism. The buffer height complies with the NEM standard, and brake hoses, screw couplings and various sockets are included as separate parts.

The total length of the locomotive is approximately 22.4 cm. This locomotive can be perfectly combined with matching freight wagons that can be found in the Märklin H0 assortment under item number 00730 and, with other wagon numbers, in the Trix assortment under item number 24969. This locomotive is also available in a direct current version in the Trix H0 range under item number 25651.
